Administrative Assistant - Lour Road Group Practice, Forfar
Part-time (24 hours per week, between Monday & Friday, rota’d between 8.00am–6.00pm)
Fixed term for 6 months in the first instance, with a view to extension following a period of mutual evaluation
Lour Road Group Practice is a busy, well-established GP surgery serving the Forfar community. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Administrative Assistant to join our friendly and supportive Practice team.
This post is offered on a 6-month fixed-term basis initially, with the intention to extend subject to a successful period of mutual evaluation. It’s important to us that this role is the right fit for both the Practice and the successful applicant.
This is a key patient-facing role, providing essential administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Practice. You will work closely with colleagues across reception and back-office functions, supporting both patients and clinical staff.

About the role
Duties will include:

Greeting patients and managing reception enquiries

Handling telephone calls, appointment requests and messages for clinical staff

Processing new registrations and updating patient records

Scanning and filing clinical correspondence

Supporting prescription processes and patient recalls
-
Providing general administrative support to the wider Practice Team
Full training will be provided.
About you
We are looking for someone who:

Has a friendly, professional manner and strong communication skills

Is organised, reliable and able to manage competing priorities

Is comfortable working in a busy, patient-facing environment

Has basic IT skills and is willing to learn new systems

Works well both independently and as part of a team
Previous experience in healthcare or General Practice is desirable but not essential. More important is a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to providing high-quality service to patients.
